Baseball Game Preview: Albany Cougars vs. Terra Linda Trojans

The Albany Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Terra Linda Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Albany hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Friday, Albany came up short against Pinole Valley and fell 6-1.

Albany saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Richards, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Terra Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of San Marin. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Terra Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Everything went Albany's way against Terra Linda in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Albany made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
