Water Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Calhoun City is ranked 110th).
Water Valley suffered their biggest loss since November 14, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 58-25 defeat at the hands of West Tallahatchie. Water Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.
In what's become a running theme this season, Calhoun City gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They really took it to Bruce for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-29 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Calhoun City sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Water Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Calhoun City, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
