Baseball Recap: Bracken Christian Beats St. Paul for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Bracken Christian came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the St. Paul Cardinals by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered an 8-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tristan Mahurin made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Bracken Christian's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Mahurin was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Dalton Dresch was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Bracken Christian is 2-1 when Dresch posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise.

Bracken Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for St. Paul, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coincidentally, Bracken Christian and St. Paul will both be playing Hill Country Christian the next time they take the field. Bracken Christian will head out to face Hill Country Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while St. Paul will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
