Woodland Regional strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tolland Eagles a 14-0 shutout. The Hawks' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five contests.

Ella VanAlstyne was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kate Lisowski, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May. Another player making a difference was Angelena Tottenham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Woodland Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 28 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Woodland Regional pushed their record up to 26-0 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tolland, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
