Soccer Game Preview: Soledad vs. Carmel

The Soledad Aztecs will face off against the Carmel Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Soledad fell victim to Gonzales and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while the Spartans are ranked 352nd).

Meanwhile, Carmel also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Pacific Collegiate by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Soledad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Carmel, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4-1.
