Softball Recap: Medfield Takes a Loss

Medfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellingham Blackhawks. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Medfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Baker, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Tess Baacke was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Medfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bellingham, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Ashland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bellingham will square off against rival Dedham at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
