Football Game Preview: Siuslaw Vikings vs. Douglas Trojans + How To Watch

The Siuslaw Vikings will face off against the Douglas Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Siuslaw is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing South Umpqua: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Vikings blew the Lancers out of the water with a 48-13 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Siuslaw found their leader in sophomore Jericho Lake, who threw for 214 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Douglas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 41-40 photo finish over Sutherlin. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Siuslaw better keep an eye on Ryder Sawyer. He was instrumental in Douglas' win, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 91 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. What's more, Sawyer racked up 137.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Douglas' leading receiver Reese Willis was Sawyer's top target yet again, picking up 70 receiving yards and two TDs.

Siuslaw now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Douglas, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Siuslaw was taken down by Douglas 57-13 when the teams last played back in September of 2017. Thankfully for the Vikings, Elijah Wiegman (who threw for 246 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time.
