Basketball Recap: Pee Dee Academy Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pee Dee Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins on Saturday, falling 45-19. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Dolphins are ranked 35th).

Despite the loss, Pee Dee Academy still got an impressive performance from Bennett Causey, who on his way to 15 points. What's more, Causey also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2023.

It was another big night for Ty Harpring, who en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Hilton Head Prep. Harpring has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Billy Barron was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pee Dee Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Hilton Head Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Pee Dee Academy nor Hilton Head Prep have any future games scheduled.
