Basketball Recap: Maple Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Maple Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 30-19 victory over West Michigan Aviation Academy. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Maple Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ines Sanchez Feito, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and seven steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Sanchez Feito has scored at least a third of Maple Valley's points. Lydia Emerick also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Maple Valley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Maple Valley will host Reading at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Michigan Aviation Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
