Baseball Game Preview: Winnebago Indians vs. Lutheran Crusaders

For the second straight game, Winnebago will face off against Lutheran. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Winnebago didn't have quite enough to beat Lutheran and fell 7-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.

For Lutheran's part, Nate Ling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ling was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mason Villafuerte was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mason Keller, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The win (which was Lutheran's seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Winnebago, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.
