Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Richmond Senior

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Richmond Senior ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 55-48 win over the Westover Wolverines. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Richmond Senior to victory were Madisen Jackson and Jasiah 'Jo Jo' Gilchrist. Jackson dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, while Gilchrist posted 20 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most points Gilchrist has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was J'Nasia Neal, who scored five points along with five boards and five steals.

Richmond Senior pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points over those games. As for Westover, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
