Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Franklin-Simpson's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Franklin-Simpson's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Monroe County Falcons a 14-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Liam Heinze, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Franklin-Simpson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Jaxon Gass was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Franklin-Simpson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe County only posted an OBP of .280.
