Basketball Recap: Blair Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elkhorn North, Blair was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-53 win over the Standing Bear Grizzlies.

Despite the loss, Standing Bear saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carlos Risueno went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Coen Lambie, who posted 12 points.

Blair pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Standing Bear, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

The future could be bright for both Blair and Standing Bear: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Blair will try to hand Lewis Central their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Standing Bear will look to extend Lincoln Northwest's eight-game losing streak when the meet on Tuesday.
