Basketball Recap: Shea Gets the Win

West Warwick came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Shea, but Tiyara Gonzalez wouldn't allow it. The Shea Raiders walked away with a 64-57 victory over the West Warwick Wizards on Monday thanks in part to Gonzalez, who went 12 of 27 on her way to 31 points along with seven boards and four steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

West Warwick's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lex Foley, who posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Foley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Truss, who had 16 points.

Shea now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Warwick, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Shea didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-44 defeat against St. Mary Academy-Bay View on the 18th. As for West Warwick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-30 win against Juanita Sanchez Complex on the 18th.
