Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for Northfield

Northfield had won two straight home games and Aliyah Herron did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Northfield Nighthawks secured a 60-55 W over the Rangeview Raiders thanks in part to Herron, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine steals. She is becoming a predictor of Northfield's success: when she posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when she doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Bethel, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Northfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Rangeview and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
