Baseball Recap: Napoleon Victorious

Napoleon won the last time they faced Ross and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Little Giants by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Trey Rubinstein made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Parker Woods and Owen Espinoza did most of the damage at the plate: Woods went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Espinoza went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Woods has posted over his last 12 matches. Another player making a difference was Eric Hershberger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Napoleon's record is now 14-5-1. As for Ross, they moved to 11-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Napoleon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Little Giants: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
