Baseball Recap: Strath Haven Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ridley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strath Haven). They came out on top against the Ridley Raiders on Monday by a score of 9-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Caden Shuster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Strath Haven is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise. Shuster was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alex Selverian was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ben Milligan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Strath Haven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Strath Haven's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Ridley, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-8.
