Volleyball Game Preview: Athol Bears vs. Hampden Charter School of Science

The Athol Bears will take on Hampden Charter School of Science at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Athol will be strutting in after a victory while Hampden Charter School of Science will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Athol beat Springfield Central/Commerce/Putnam/Renaissance/Springfield Science and Tech 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Athol had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-19, 25-22, 29-27.

Meanwhile, Hampden Charter School of Science unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Pioneer Valley Christian back in March, falling 3-0.

Athol's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Hampden Charter School of Science, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
