Basketball Recap: Families Instructing Students Homeschool Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool had won two straight games and Melody Lee did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks walked away with a 32-23 win over the Florida College Academy Falcons thanks in part to Lee, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Julianna Lamon, who posted six points and eight boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points per game. As for Florida College Academy, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-29 defeat against Gulf Coast HEAT on the 17th. Florida College Academy has also already played their next contest, a 47-25 loss against Cypress Creek on the 17th.
