Basketball Game Preview: Mesquite Skeeters vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes

Mesquite hasn't had much luck against Duncanville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mesquite Skeeters will square off against the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mesquite is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 76-61 to Lancaster. While losing is never fun, the Skeeters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Tigers are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Duncanville beat Horn 60-47 on Friday.

Duncanville pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Mesquite, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

Mesquite took a serious blow against Duncanville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 102-64. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Duncanville's Kayden Edwards, who went 10 for 18 en route to 29 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
