Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Nacogdoches

The Marshall Mavericks will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Nacogdoches Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marshall fell victim to Whitehouse and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Nacogdoches was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Pleasant. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Dragons couldn't quite close it out.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marshall fell to 2-1-1. As for Nacogdoches, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
