Baseball Recap: Buena's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Buena unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Spirit Spartans. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Donato Vai made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season.

Buena's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Holy Spirit, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buena will head out to challenge Atlantic City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Holy Spirit, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
