Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Roughriders. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roughriders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Centennial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Walton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Julio Lauzurique Yordi also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Roosevelt, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centennial will challenge South Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roosevelt, they will venture away from home to square off against North Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
