Volleyball Recap: Indianapolis Shortridge Victorious

Indianapolis Shortridge took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Greenwood Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-2 on Thursday. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Indianapolis Shortridge took Greenwood Christian Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-15, 25-13, 21-25, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Greenwood Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dallas Conn had five digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Conn.

Indianapolis Shortridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 11-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Indianapolis Shortridge has already played their next game (against Herron), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they will face off against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
