Soccer Game Preview: Needville vs. Brazosport

The Needville Bluejays will venture away from home to square off against the Brazosport Exporters at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Needville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Stafford 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Brazosport made sure to put some goals up on the board against La Marque on Thursday. They never let the Cougars onto the board and left with an 8-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Exporters' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The victory got Brazosport back to even at 8-8. As for Needville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Needville beat Brazosport 2-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Needville repeat their success, or does Brazosport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
