Softball Recap: Lamar Drops Highest Score of Season Against Timberland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar). They were the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over the Timberland Wolves on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Silver Foxes needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Jordyn Scarbrough was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Guinn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lamar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

The victory got Lamar back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Lamar will square off against Waccamaw at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lamar's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Waccamaw's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Timberland, they and Georgetown will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
