Baseball Recap: Bullard Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

With a playoff win on the line, Bullard rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Hargrave Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Dylan Fowler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Fowler wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tannon Wynne, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave Wynne a new career-high.

Bullard's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hargrave, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-9-2.

Bullard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
