Baseball Recap: Merritt Comes Up Short

Merritt managed to slip by Sayre the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Oilers lost 11-1 to the Eagles on Monday. The Oilers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Merritt and nudges their season record down to 6-9-1. As for Sayre, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Merritt has already played their next match (against Burns Flat-Dill City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sayre, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-6 victory against Blair on the 15th.
