Football Recap: Durant Takes a Loss

Durant extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-23 heartbreaker at the hands of the Broken Bow Savages. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Savages from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Broken Bow, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three points across that stretch.

Greydon Howell had a dynamite game, rushing for 111 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jattairrius Neal, who gained 99 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Durant will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gravette at 7:00 p.m. As for Broken Bow, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Idabel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
