Preview: Martinsville Bluestreaks vs. Sandoval Blackhawks
Martinsville is 0-3 against Sandoval since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Martinsville Bluestreaks will head out on the road to take on the Sandoval Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. Martinsville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Martinsville beat Dugger Union 32-27. The win was just what Martinsville needed coming off of a 60-23 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Sandoval came up short against North Clay/Clay City on Thursday and fell 59-47. Sandoval has struggled against North Clay/Clay City recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Martinsville's win ended a 15-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-16. As for Sandoval, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
Martinsville was taken down by Sandoval 51-18 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Martinsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
