Softball Recap: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Comes Up Short

Academy of Our Lady of Peace extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Pilots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 15-4.

Grace Paine was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.

As for Patrick Henry, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11. Four seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Patrick Henry's side, the result came thanks to Zoe Rutherford's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Izzy Ervin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Rachel Earner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 6th. As for Patrick Henry, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Christian on the 6th.
