Basketball Game Preview: Myrtle Point Bobcats vs. Illinois Valley Cougars

Myrtle Point hasn't had much luck against Illinois Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Myrtle Point Bobcats face off against the Illinois Valley Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Myrtle Point is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They fell 47-36 to Bandon.

Meanwhile, Illinois Valley took a blow against Oakland on Tuesday, falling 79-39. The Cougars have struggled against the Oakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Illinois Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Myrtle Point, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Myrtle Point came up short against Illinois Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 56-46. Can Myrtle Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
