Basketball Recap: Sleepy Eye's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Sleepy Eye blew Springfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Springfield got their revenge. The Sleepy Eye Indians fell just short of the Springfield Tigers by a score of 66-63. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Sleepy Eye's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for Springfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sleepy Eye will challenge St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Sleepy Eye has won five straight at home, while St. Mary's won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Springfield, they will face off against New Ulm Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
