Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Lions vs. Obion County Rebels

Trinity Christian Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Obion County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Rebels at 6:20 p.m. Trinity Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity Christian Academy faced off against Waverly Central on Thursday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 4-2. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Levi Baker tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trinity Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greg Carter, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Zane Atwood also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Obion County came up short against Dyersburg on Tuesday and fell 8-3. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Obion County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-15-1.

Everything went Trinity Christian Academy's way against Obion County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Trinity Christian Academy made off with a 23-4 victory.
