Baseball Recap: Elmore County Comes Up Short

If Elmore County was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Calera on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Elmore County Panthers fell just short of the Shelby County Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Elmore County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Shelby County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elmore County will face off against Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Shelby County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Shelby County Wildcats face off against Baldwin County Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
