Basketball Game Preview: Barstow Aztecs vs. Silverado Hawks

Barstow is 2-8 against Silverado since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Barstow Aztecs will square off against the Silverado Hawks at 5:30 p.m.

Barstow will head into Wednesday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 54-27 loss at the hands of Victor Valley. The Aztecs were down 36-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Emily Franco, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emersyn Ebel, who put up five points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Silverado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down Adelanto 56-41 on Friday.

Silverado is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Barstow, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Barstow couldn't quite finish off Silverado in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 49-47. Can Barstow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
