Basketball Game Preview: Summit SkyHawks vs. Otay Ranch Mustangs

The Summit SkyHawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Otay Ranch Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Summit was able to grind out a solid win over Arrowhead Christian, taking the game 63-52.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Otay Ranch). They blew past Valhalla 74-44 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Summit better keep an eye on Johann Omae. He was instrumental in Otay Ranch's win, going 10 of 18 en route to 35 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rainier Tabago, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Summit has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Otay Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
