Softball Recap: Jurupa Hills Spartans vs. Central Spartans
While Jurupa Hills's win against Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Jurupa Hills had just enough and edged out Central 15-14. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 on Saturday.
Isabela Torres and Alayna Ibarra did most of the damage at the plate: Torres went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ibarra went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Ibarra has posted since back in March. Jaylin Olguin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Jurupa Hills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
The victory got Jurupa Hills back to even at 9-9. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
