Baseball Recap: Garrett's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Garrett had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers on Monday.

Josh Hogle made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hogle wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grant Byers, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Garrett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Canterbury struck out nine times.

Garrett's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coming up, Garrett will host Prairie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they will venture away from home to square off against Southern Wells at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
