BRAYDEN JONES Drops League-Best Effort on Friday

Starting off the list is Provine's BRAYDEN JONES, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. JONES rushed for 37 yards.

Provine's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. JONES and Provine have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Brookhaven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

North Pike was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Jakevious Smith did his best to prevent it. Natchez had no answer to Smith as he rushed for 86 yards on only 12 carries. Smith also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.

North Pike is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Kameron Morgan stepped things up a notch to give Natchez the 'W'. Morgan turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 59 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended a pass.

For the year, Morgan has thrown those 2 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 12.1 passing yards per game.

Jakel Irving Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Jakel Irving produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Natchez to the win on Friday. Irving picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss). Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 5.1 total tackles per game.

Irving is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against South Jones on Friday. Irving picked up three sacks and made nine total tackles the last time he and the Braves duked it out back in October of 2023.

On Friday, Natchez got the W thanks in part to Patrick Banks playing the best football he has all season. Banks forced a fumble and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

For the season, Banks has averaged 6.6 total tackles per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 3.43 total tackles per game.
