Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Wabeno/Laona's Winning Streak

Wabeno/Laona and Montello squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Wabeno/Laona had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 3-2. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Lily Terry paced Wabeno/Laona's offense, picking up 22 kills. Terry got some help from Reese Connor and her 28 assists. Finally, Faith Novak kept Wabeno/Laona's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Rylan Harder was nothing short of spectacular for Montello: she had 19 digs and two aces. Those 19 digs gave Harder a new career-high.

Wabeno/Laona's defeat dropped their record down to 30-11. As for Montello, they are on a roll lately: they've won 25 of their last 27 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-6 record this season.

Wabeno/Laona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montello, they will take on Heritage Christian on Thursday.
