Softball Recap: Brighton Bengals vs. Hillcrest Huskies

Brighton had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-12 to make it four. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillcrest Huskies. The Bengals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Audrey Fleckenstein made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyten Bowers, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

As for Hillcrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brighton will challenge Highland at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillcrest, they will face off against Cottonwood at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
