Football Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by the Fairview Warriors and fell 44-7. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.

As for Fairview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. That looming 44-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Fairview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Burke Lowry, who threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Lowry's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Cal Reis was Lowry's top target, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Trinity and Fairview will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Trojans are set to take on their familiar foe Beachwood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fairview will square off against rival Cuyahoga Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
