Softball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Has No Trouble Against Harvest Prep

Bishop Rosecrans came into Wednesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Harvest Prep Warriors on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-3 back in April.

Dakota Householder made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Householder was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Sagan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Serenaty Gibson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bishop Rosecrans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bishop Rosecrans' win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Harvest Prep, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Rosecrans will challenge Fairfield Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Harvest Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berne Union at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.47 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
