Basketball Recap: Elkin Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Elkin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mount Airy Granite Bears on Friday, sneaking past 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buckin' Elks have posted since November 17, 2023.

The victory got Elkin back to even at 7-7. As for Mount Airy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

When Elkin and Mount Airy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Elkin will try to stop South Stokes' six-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Mount Airy will challenge Alleghany and their five-game winning streak at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
