Basketball Recap: Northridge Knights vs. Box Elder Bees
Northridge was the 55-48 winner over Box Elder when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Northridge Knights fell just short of the Box Elder Bees by a score of 70-67 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (60), the Knights still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Box Elder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mayson Jeppsen, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and five assists. Jeppsen has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Ryan Jenson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
This is the second loss in a row for Northridge and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Box Elder, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-12.
Northridge will host Viewmont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Viewmont likes a good challenge. As for Box Elder, they will head out to square off against Bonneville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Box Elder is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
