Volleyball Recap: La Crosse Central Takes a Loss

La Crosse Central lost against Aquinas back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Riverhawks came up short against the Blugolds, falling 3-0.

La Crosse Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.

Mady Young paced La Crosse Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Young got some help from Ellie Gillitzer and her 20 assists. Gillitzer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Aubrey Coyne had a dynamite game For Aquinas., getting 18 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Coyne a new career-high.

La Crosse Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Aquinas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season.

La Crosse Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aquinas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Tomah on the 16th.
