Recap: Plainview Pirates vs. Wausa Vikings

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact the Plainview Pirates proved on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over Wausa. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Plainview also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Leading Plainview to victory were Teya Boyer and Abbie Kromarek. Boyer scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds, while Kromarek scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Peighton Arlt, who scored 7 points.

Taylor Dawson and Sienna West certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Dawson scored 15 points along with 3 blocks, while West scored 11 points.

Plainview's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wausa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainview will challenge Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Wausa, they will head out on the road to face off against Boyd County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Boyd County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
