Volleyball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Carlmont Scots

Burlingame is 1-6 against Carlmont since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Scots at 5:45 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

It was a proper cat-fight when Burlingame challenged San Mateo on Friday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Burlingame took San Mateo into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-5.

Meanwhile, Carlmont posted their closest victory since April 5th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Menlo-Atherton.

Carlmont wouldn't go down easily and took Menlo-Atherton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-14, 27-29, 25-19, 17-15.

Burlingame pushed their record up to 24-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Carlmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-15 record this season.

Burlingame came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlmont in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
