Volleyball Recap: Sophie Stanulis Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Foran

Northwestern Regional had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Foran Lions on Thursday. The Highlanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Northwestern Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophie Stanulis led the charge by getting 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Stanulis a new career-high.

Northwestern Regional has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Foran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season.

Northwestern Regional will square off against Sacred Heart Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Foran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
